From "prasios didymos" "green twin". Reacts rapidly in water and slowly in oxygen to give a green oxide coating. It is used as flints for pocket lighters and for the yellow visor glass to protect welder. Discovered by. Baron Auer von Welsbach of Vienna, Australia in 1885
